Time Goes By

Why, hello again. You've stopped in on a very special day. It's Bensen's birthday. Yep, my Best Bud is growing up. But, boy is he one funny child.

As soon as he quit blowing out his candles he started spinning around in a strange dance and then sudden;y stopped to admire his hands. Yeah yeah, hands are fine, but I can't wait until he gets a load of his face. He looks just like I did at that age. Big, bold and beautiful.

Yep, no doubt who's boy this is. Isn't he handsome? Posted by Picasa

Alice's Turn

Just a month or so after Bensen's birthday it was Alice's turn. Man, am I going to have problems with the boys, or what?

Alice is really interested in money. Her favorite birthday gifts were 6 money trees that she bought for herself. She's got an interesting personality too. Alice is super-neat (just like your's truely), super-outgoing, super-active, but grumpy and serious as anything. When she gets mad, she holds a grudge forever!

Cleve is back

With both kids in school and Chloe at work I've been really bored around the house. I guess I should get out and start working again. But it's so nice being at home all day with the peace and the quiet.

If I want to watch TV all day, I can. If I want to read books or sleep or look out the windows or...

Hmmm, speaking of windows. Isn't that Mayhew walking by?

Excuse me for a moment. Gotta go see an old friend. Posted by Picasa

Entertaining

Don't mind me. I'm just keeping my guest entertained. Yep, that's it. I'm "entertaining."

Yummy. Now, this is the way to make the daytime hours go by much faster. Posted by Picasa

Uh-Oh

I was saying goodbye to Mayhew when I heard a loud scream behind me. "Daddy!"

Oh no! I completely lost track of time. Alice is in high school now and comes home so much earlier than she used to. She must have been in her bedroom with her trees. I didn't even see her come in.

I got Mayhew out the door fast and tried to make excuses to Alice. But I know that there's no excuse for this. Man, I'd been so good for so long but I really messed up. Again.

Why do I keep hurting the people I love? Will Alice ever trust me again? Will she tell Chloe?

I have to admit that I hid out for most of the evening. I just avoided everyone in the family the rest of the night. Once it was dark, I even hid out on the roof with the telescope. I just can't face anyone right now.

(As told by Alice)

Dear Journal - Dad's been hiding ever since he got busted after school. I mean, really! He's always told me to talk things through, but him? Nah, he pouts. Geez.

I haven't told Momma what I saw. She doesn't need that kinda pain anymore. Yeah, I know what he was like before. I found some old letters and cards from flowers.

OK, now I getting really ticked off! I know he's up on the roof. I'm fed up with this. I'm going up there to confront him and make him see how badly he messed up. Posted by Picasa

Cleve?!?!?!

Suddenly there was a strange noise on the roof and everyone ran up the stairs. Just as they burst through the door they saw Cleve being sucked into the sky. He was kidnapped by some aliens! No, really! It happened. Posted by Picasa

Daddy?

Where'd my Daddy go?

Can I find him through this? He's gotta be alright. Daddy? Come back home. We need you.

Yeah, you were a jerk today, but Geez Louise, you're my Dad. That doesn't change just because you acted like a self-centered, uncaring, unthinking, grade-A, number one, stinking, rotten, slimy toad.

Daddy? Please, come back home. I love you. Posted by Picasa

Returned or Rejected?

I woke to find myself falling through the air. Thud! OW! Concrete is not a soft surface!

What? Wait a minute! Last thing I remember I was up on the roof looking through the telescope. What's that glowing thing above me? A spaceship?

OK, I'm really freaking out here. Posted by Picasa

Uh-Oh!

Oh no. Suddenly, I remember everything. And I do mean everything.

I can't let my family know what happened up there. I'll just tell them... Oh, I'll think of something.

No, better yet, I'll tell them I can't remember a thing. Yeah, that'll work. After all, it's sort of true, right? I didn't remember anything at first.

My family never has to know the truth. And maybe, in time, I'll forget too. Posted by Picasa

Remembering

It's been a little over a month now since my "encounter." Memories keep flooding back at odd times.

At first I thought they might have injected me with some strange flu or something. I went to the doctor and he said I was fine, but why do I keep getting so sick every morning? Maybe I need to go back again. He must've missed something.

I've even started craving certain foods. Are they still running some kind of experiment on me? Maybe I'm not really back home. Maybe I'm still on their ship. Am I loosing my mind? Posted by Picasa

Surprise!

I went back to the doctor to find out what was going on. I explained to him about my sudden cravings for sweets, weight gain, mood swings, my morning sickness, everything.

Even as I described what's happening to me I kept thinking that all of these symptoms sounded so familar. I just couldn't figure out why. Then the doc ran some tests and came back to the examining room with a strange look on his face.

"Mr. Garth? Has anything... unusual... happened to you recently? Anything, um, shall we say, supernatural?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, I found some references in a Physician's Guide that match your symptoms to a T. But each of those men had an encounter a few months before. And each of those men were pregnant. By aliens."

"Oh no." I barely remember the rest of the doctor's visit. I was reliving my alien encounter and I knew he was telling the truth. I was going to have a baby. An alien baby. Posted by Picasa

Two Teen Household

Before long, it was time for Bensen's birthday again. Luckily Chloe remembered to get the cake and stuff. I've been really out of sorts lately.

I've finally come to terms with my condition. I can even laugh about the stretch marks. But I am so ready for this child to arrive. I want my figure back!

I'm tired of sleeping all day. I'm tired of him or her dancing on my bladder. I'm tired of not seeing my feet. I'm tired of crying at everything. I'm just plain tired! Posted by Picasa

Baby Jeeves

After yet another bathroom break, I realized that something strange was happening to me.

I was suddenly so dizzy that the room seemed to spin around me. When the spinning stopped, I was standing there holding a little green baby boy.

Is this my child? (I looked down to see my figure was back) Yeah, this must be my baby. I'll call him Jeeves. Posted by Picasa

Alice meets Jeeves

Alice heard my shouts from the other room and came running.

"Alright! A green baby! That's way cool, Dad. "

"I'm calling him Jeeves. What do you think?"

"Yeah, I like it much better than Belvedere or French." Posted by Picasa

Simsland Genetics

Chloe hadn't told the family about a letter she had received a few months ago. Simsland Genetics offered her lots of money for a some DNA samples. They wanted to run tests and find out the secrets of the alien race that had sometimes taken away men from the nation.

All she needed were a few strands of the alien's hair and to swab the inside of his mouth. And if she could get a drop or two of it's blood they'd pay even more.

Could she do it? No one would ever need to know. She could even use some of the money for college for her two kids. Oh yeah, and maybe even this one too.

She stood looking down at the sleeping baby for some time that night. As she watched him, she realized that this wasn't just an alien child. He has Cleve's nose and mouth. This child really is part of the man she loves.

She had thought Cleve was just an incubator or something. But the aliens must have used her husband's DNA too.

She knew she'd have to tear up the offer and try to forget about the money. She couldn't take the cash after all. If it had been a pure alien maybe, but this is Cleve's child. Posted by Picasa
